  5. mix in pumpkin puree, stirring until thoroughly combined.
  6. beat eggs in a separate bowl.
  7. add small amount of hot grits to beaten eggs and then blend all back into grits mixture.
  8. add cheese and stir until melted
  9. season grits with nutmeg, cayenne, salt and pepper.
  10. pour grits into a greased casserole dish.
  11. bake grits for 50 minutes until set and lightly puffed and brown.
